Qatar Olympic Academy concluded a training of trainers course in Olympic education, which was held over four days divided between theoretical lectures and practical application.

Approximately fifteen students from different disciplines, studies and positions participated in this course, which reflected positively on the course, and who enriched the content of the course from their field and practical experiences and provided a lot to the content of the course.

The course included many axes aimed at preparing and refining learners to be qualified to present lectures and seminars on Olympic culture, which is one of the most important pillars of the Qatar Olympic Academy calendar.

Through this course, the Academy achieves one of its most important goals, which is to spread the Olympic and sports culture in the Qatari society in particular and the region in general by refining these students to spread the Olympic culture.

The course was presented by Mr. Hisham Al-Adwani, Vice President of the Oman School Sports Federation, Director of the Sports Management Diploma Program at the International Olympic Committee. International lecturer in sports management at the International Olympic Committee.

He was also assisted in presenting the lectures by Captain Mohammed Omar, swimming coach at Al Khor Sports Club, one of the graduates of the Qatar Olympic Academy in the Diploma in Advanced Management for Sports and Olympic Institutions and holder of a master's degree in sports management from the International Olympic Committee, and Ms. Hasna Buhaqab from the Qatar Olympic Academy, where they presented part of the theoretical lectures and presented activities and skills for the practical application of Olympic values during the days of the session.

The course dealt with many themes over the course of the four days, where the lecturers first reviewed a historical narrative of the emergence of the ancient Olympic Games in Greece and its ancient and great history, and then moved on to talk about the modern Olympic Games and what Baron Pierre de Coubertin presented during the establishment of the modern Olympic Games, and  then they touched on talking about the three main Olympic values (excellence, friendship and respect) and the principles of the Olympic movement, and that educational values and their relationship to Olympic values in terms of concept, meaning and goal.

On the second day, models of cognitive activities applications were presented to spread the values and principles of the Olympic to the student in the physical education class and the training session.

Captain Mohammed Omar gave a lecture entitled "The Qatari Experience in Spreading Olympic Culture", in which he explained the role of the Qatar Olympic Committee in spreading the Olympic and sports culture in the Qatari society in particular and the region in general, through the Qatar Olympic Academy.

On the third day, the course dealt with how to introduce Olympic values into the plan to build a physical education lesson or training session according to different age stages, and students were introduced to identify methods and types of motivation for young people to practice sports activities.

Many activities, practical applications and competitions were also held for students with the aim of applying the Olympic values, where a question competition was held to reach the Olympic values (fair play, the pursuit of excellence, balance between mind and body, fun in making an effort).

After that, a motor activity was held to apply the Olympic values (respect for self and others, happiness in exerting effort, striving for excellence, balance between mind and body, fair play).

On the fourth day of the course, the students were divided into two teams, and the lecturer held debates between the two teams, where they presented many questions and experiences in the Olympic field, and the other team answers these questions sequentially.

At the end of the course, Mr. Khalil Al-Jaber, Executive Director of the Academy, thanked all the students and honored the lecturers Mr. Hisham Al-Adwani, Captain Mohamed Omar and Ms. Hasna Bouhaqab for their contribution to the success of the course, and then distributed awards to the winning team.

The Qatar Olympic Academy concluded the lectures of the third semester of the Advanced Diploma Program in Sports and Olympic Institutions Management "Thirteenth Edition of 2023", which was held for three days, in the presence of all the program's students, from inside and outside the country from various sports and administrative disciplines.
